Connectomics: The Convergence of Brain Wiring & Brain Tumors

In this presentation, Ragini Verma, PhD, examines diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI), a modality used to characterize diffusivity in the brain, and in so doing, reveal the cohesive and noncohesive regions and the connectivity of brain regions. dMRI can also be used for surgical planning, tumor tissue analysis and connectomics, the all-over connectivity of the brain. Dr. Verma discusses these factors and their issues, reveals the impact of treatment on brain connectivity and discusses the advantages of dMRI as a planning tool for surgery.
