Stereotactic Radiation for Inoperable Lung Cancers

Abigail T. Berman, MD, MSCE offers an overview of stereotactic body radiotherapy treatments in the context of both medically inoperable patients and by comparison to surgery. Dr. Berman focuses on recent advances in stereotactic radiotherapy, permitting radiation closer to the heart; motion management during these treatments; therapy when no biopsy can be obtained; and novel clinical trials for proton therapy in non-small cell lung cancer.
