Genomics and Clinical Trials How might this work? Biological, logistical and cultural challenges

Roger B. Cohen, MD, Professor of Medicine and Associate Director of Clinical Research, Abramson Cancer Center, considers the challenges for practicing oncologists in their efforts to interpret and make the best use of the information arising from genomic testing for their patients with cancer. A practicing oncologist himself, Dr. Cohen examines the molecular complexity of common cancers and the many factors, including acquired resistance to therapy, that can confound treatment. Finally, Dr. Cohen reviews the difficulties and deficiencies inherent in the clinical trial system for cancer research.
