I'm the kind of person who's at a bed in the morning, happy to come to work quite honestly, if I'm away from work for more than a week, I'm I'm kind of ready to come back and I'm wondering what's going on here? I love interacting with patients. I I love the gratification of meeting someone with a problem and having some part in making that problem better. It's an egg, an incredible feeling and unless you do it, I don't know a better way to describe it, but it is extremely gratifying. My name is tom goes, oh, I'm Chief of Urology at Penn Medicine and I am a urologic oncologist when a patient comes to pen for their urologic cancer care, even if they're only sitting down with one person that day, they're really getting the full support of the entire urologic oncology service. And I think it's really important to point out, it's not just about operations, are seeing patients every day, We're learning something new here before. Multidisciplinary care was even a buzzword or something in vogue that you heard people say are cancer groups on the urology side were extremely well integrated. We always had really fantastic collaborative relationships with medical oncology, radiation, oncology, cancer genetics, pathology radiology. One of my strength is being able to talk to patients in patient centered terms that they can understand. And it's very important to me that people walk out of the office not only understanding their cancer diagnosis and what their treatment plan is, but also feeling really good about it, feeling positive about it because I'm a big believer that how people approach the management and treatment of their cancer goes a long way to how they're going to do and if a patient walks out of my office with a positive attitude, ready to fight their cancer, I think it's already a step in the right direction on how they're going to do. Yeah, Yeah. No. Published April 27, 2021 Created by
