Penn Comprehensive ALS Center

Frances E. Jensen, MD, FACP, Chair of the Department of Neurology at Penn Medicine, describes the Penn Comprehensive ALS Center, a program committed to the care of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and to advancing clinical research to discover a cure for this disabling and ultimately fatal disease. The Center is comprehensive in that its services and staff embrace every aspect of the disease and its potential effects on patients and their families. A clinician-researcher herself, Dr. Jensen also describes the explosion of neuroscience research into the causes of ALS, and how this information is positioning Penn investigators to develop new treatment plans disease.
