The Influence of Renal Dysfunction on Arrhythmia Management: Kidney Disease and Atrial Fibrillation

Electrophysiologist Rajat Deo, MD, examines the concerns associated with concomitant therapies for kidney dysfunction and atrial fibrillation. Dr. Deo’s discussion includes a review of the effect of antiarrhythmic drug therapies and oral (and novel oral) anticoagulant medications on treatment strategies; prevention of sudden cardiac death in patients with kidney disease receiving ICDs; and cardiac resynchronization therapy in the context of kidney disease and heart failure.
