Peripheral Vascular Disease

Arthur Topoulos, MD, explains the etiology, diagnosis and management of peripheral vascular disease (PVD) in the context of cardiac disease. Diagnosis of PVD involves a pulse volume recording, or PVR, and a comprehensive history, and is followed by tailored therapy consisting of risk-factor modification, lifestyle changes, and medications, including antihypertensives and aspirin.
